Teen gunned down in parking lot

A 17-year-old Eunice male was shot to death Friday evening, according to Police Chief Randy Fontenot. Fontenot identified the victim as Tyvon Favors. Police were called at 9:59 p.m. to the shooting at 600 E. Laurel Ave.

2 children die in Opelousas house fire

State Fire Marshal deputies continue investigating the circumstances surrounding a house fire in Opelousas that claimed the life of two children.   Just before 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday, the Opelousas Fire Department responded to a fire call at a house located in the 1900 block of Jake Drive.

30 catalytic converters stolen from business

Acadia Parish Crime Stoppers is asking for help in solving the theft of 30 catalytic converters. The crimes occurred in the 2500 block of Aymond Street, south of Eunice between the evening of Dec. 3 and the morning of Dec. 6, according to Sheriff K.P. Gibson Entry was gained by cutting a fence.

Eunice shooters are back in action

Staff Report Eunice Police continued to contend with the “Godless, senseless fools” unleashing a siege of shootings into the new year. Police Chief Randy Fontenot said a female was wounded in the leg in a shooting reported at 9 p.m. Monday in the 1000 block of West Oak.
