2 drivers killed in head-on crash in Vermilion Parish

A two-vehicle crash on U.S. 167 near Lurby Road in Vermilion Parish claimed the life of 18-year-old Ramsie Baumgardner of Maurice and 31-year-old Brandon Isaac of Carencro, according to a Louisiana State Police Troop I news release.

Eunice Police pursuit ends with arrest in Ville Platte

A Ville Platte man ended up multiple charges after a pursuit by Eunice Police into Evangeline Parish, according to Evangeline Parish Sheriff Charles Guillory. Eunice Police were joined by Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s deputies in a vehicle pursuit in the Chataignier area on Jan. 17.

997 fatalities on La. highways in 2021

BATON ROUGE — Highway fatalities in Louisiana in 2021 topped the previous high-death mark set in 2007 (993). Preliminary data for fatal crashes and fatalities along all public highways from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31 currently shows there were a total of 914 crashes and 997 fatalities.
