Man arrested in Eunice found guilty in Iowa murder

A Kinder man, arrested in August 2020 in a double homicide case, was found guilty Oct. 22 in a Calcasieu courtroom. He is now facing two mandatory life sentences in prison for two first-degree murder charges.

A Eunice Police patrol vehicle was parked on the side of the municipal complex on Tuesday after second-generation Eunice Police officer Robert “Beef” Brickley died on Monday. Brickley, who was 44 years old, had served 16 years with the department.

Unrestrained driver dies in single-vehicle crash in St. Landry Parish

A single-vehicle crash on U.S. 167 near Bellridge Road in St. Landry Parish took the life of 19-year-old India Faith Young of Opelousas, according to a Louisiana State Police Troop I news release. The wreck occurred at about 2:30 p.m. Monday.
