Carencro man faces drug charges after traffic stop A traffic stop combined with the odor of a suspected controlled dangerous substance and a rifle in view ended with a Carencro man being charged with drug offenses, according to a news release from St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz.

Concealed carry class scheduled Saturday

The St Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office is hosting a one-day concealed carry permit class at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at 211 W. Park Ave., Eunice. The course is $100 and $80 for a spouse or renewal. The course includes fingerprints, notary or online help, application, classroom, range, and a hot Cajun meal.

Pedestrian killed in St. Landry Parish

Shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday, Louisiana State Police Troop I was notified of a fatal crash involving a pedestrian on La. 10 east of U.S. 71 in St. Landry Parish. The crash claimed the life of 59-year-old Darrell Ray Thomas of Morrow.
