Unrestrained woman killed in mid-morning crash in Vermilion Parish

Shortly before 9:30 a.m. today, July 28, 2021, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop I were notified of A single-vehicle fatal crash at about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday on La. 330, about half a mile south of Wiley Road in Vermilion Parish took the life of 34-year-old Sasha R. Menard of Abbeville.

The shooting of an Acadia Parish deputy during standoff at a Crowley apartment complex Sunday and the shooting death of a juvenile in Jennings Saturday night are related, according to police.
