Eunice Police Chief Randy Fon tenot is hoping a “confidential witness card” will make it easi- er for people to help police solve crimes. The cards — the same size as business cards — are intended to make it safer for people to cooper- ate with police.

Eunice man indicted in his brother’s shooting death

Jonah Gobert, 29, was indicted by a St. Landry Parish Grand Jury for killing his brother, Benjamin Hurks on Sept. 8, 2019. A true bill charging Gobert with second-degree murder was returned by jurors on Nov. 17 to 27th Judicial District Court Judge Alonzo Harris.
