Guns stolen in 2002 recovered

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office and Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies teamed up to recover property stolen from a 2002 burglary which occurred in Rayne. Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson said, “In 2002, a local business was burglarized where a large amount of guns were stolen.

Three Abbeville women arrested for staging crash

Detectives with the Louisiana State Police Insurance Fraud/Auto Theft Unit – Breaux Bridge Field Office have arrested three women for violations pertaining to Louisiana insurance fraud laws. The arrests were the result of an investigation into a staged vehicle crash which occurred in May 2017.

Tips sought in recent theft of tanker trailer at truck stop

The Crowley Police Department and Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish are asking the public’s help in investigating the felony theft of a semi trailer. The theft occurred at Exit 80 Travel Plaza located at 2011 N. Cherokee Drive in Crowley on March 7.

UPDATE: Crowley police investigating shooting with injuries

The Crowley Police Dept. is investigating a shooting that resulted in injury to one victim. According to Chief Jimmy Broussard, a CPD officer on patrol happened to be in the immediate vicinity of the shooting - on W. Fifth St. - at the time it occurred, approximately 7:24 p.m.
