Local business owner reports a possible embezzlement

After local business owner James Bertrand discovered money missing from an account for a business he has in Lafayette, the Ville Platte bondsman says he has been unable to get law enforcement to look into the matter.

EPSO investigates home invasion on Old Basile Highway

An alleged home invasion that occurred Monday morning in the Basile area on Old Basile Highway has resulted in an investigation by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office. Once the initial investigation was completed, Sheriff Eddie Soileau provided details to shed some light on the incident.

CPD seeks suspected forger

Crowley Police are actively searching for Marcus D. Guillory, 30, whose last known address is 557 E. RosaliaSt., Church Point. Guillory is wanted by Crowley Police for two counts of forged prescriptions, stemming from an incident that occurred in Crowley around July 9.

N.O. man arrested for allegedly fondling a sleeping woman on bus

A New Orleans man was arrested Thursday on Interstate 10 after he reportedly touched a sleeping passenger on a bus. Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson said the woman reported to authorities that she woke up to a man touching her breasts.
