Vehicle hit by gunfire at Circle K in Eunice

Eunice Police are investigating a a shooting that occurred sometime before12:40 p.m. Friday at the Circle K gas station at 2251 W. Laurel Ave. According to Police Chief Kyle Lebouef Officers were dispatched at 12:40 p.m.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Friday, May 2 Brenton Paul Sonnier, 36, 1700 block of Bayou Road, Port Barre.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotics investigators arrested five people after receiving a tip that the occupants were cooking drugs, selling drugs from a house at 1311 Nash Drive in Opelousas and were in possession of firearms. Upon further investigation, investigators were able to locate the narcotics, seize the firearms and arrest the five adult occupants.
