The following are arrests by Eunice Police. April 28 Christine Trumps, 52, 5900 block of U.S.190, Eunice. Theft of goods. Released on summons. Damon Fontenot, 35, 6600 block of Hwy. 3059, Lake Charles. Two counts of theft and unauthorized use of an access card.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. April 27 Adonigh Shechem Clarke, 30, 100 block of Anointing Drive, Opelousas. Unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling; resisting an officer. Justin Anthony Roy, 35, 100 block of Carrier Street, Leonville.

Unrestrained Ville Platte man killed in single vehicle crash

A single-vehicle crash on U.S. 167 near Alligator Lane in Evangeline Parish claimed the life of 22-year-old Brett M. Fontenot of Ville Platte, according to a report from Louisiana State Police Troop I. The wreck occurred about 2 a.m. Friday.

New Fire District 6 truck

St. Landry Parish District 6 Volunteer Department added a $304,000 2018 3,000-gallon pumper truck to its existing fleet.

Acadia Parish Sheriff forms SWAT team

For the past 10 months, the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office has been making changes that serve the public and the deputy’s needs, Sheriff KP Gibson said in a news release. One of the adjustments has been the SWAT team.
