Lady Bengals sign 10 for 2018-2019 class

The two-time defending National Champs LSU Eunice announces its incoming class for next season with the addition of ten signees.
They will join the softball program in the 2018-2019 academic year.
“We’re excited about this group,” head coach Andy Lee said. “They have all had great success at the high school level and we believe that will translate to us.

Blue Jays face Ascension Catholic Bulldogs in quarterfinal showdown

After claiming a 22-7 victory over St. Frederick in the first round of the Division IV playoffs, the St. Edmumd Blue Jays (10-1) are now focused on their quarterfinal round opponent, the Ascension Catholic Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs (9-2) routed Houma Christian in the opening round of the playoffs by a 63-7 margin.
Blue Jay head coach Andy Hargroder knows that his team will be challenged by the Bulldogs. “They are the best team we’ve seen all year. They have two 1,000-yard rushers and an athletic quarterback. Their only two losses came against Kentwood and Soutern Lab.”

Blue Jays run past Warriors

The Blue Jays won its first playoff game since 2014 Friday night as No. 3 St. No. 3 Edmund grabbed a 22-7 win over No. 14 St. Frederick.
The Blue Jays (10-1) will entertain No. 6 Ascension Catholic (9-2) in the LHSAA Division IV quarterfinals as the Bulldogs cruised to a 63-7 victory over No. 11 Houma Christian (6-4) Thursday night.
“It was great to get the win against a good team,” St. Edmund head coach Andy Hargroder said. “It is good to advance but it doesn’t get any easier for us.”

Berwick ends Bobcats’ season

BERWICK – The Eunice High Bobcats got off to a good start here Friday night in the first round of the Class 3A state playoffs, but it was Berwick who grabbed a 34-14 win.
The Bobcats tookthe opening kickoff and marched down the field against the home-standing Panthers, advancing to Berwick’s 37-yard line thanks to a 29-yard pass from quarterback Jaden Brasseaux to Tyler Darbonne.
The Bobcats continued their initial push with a 7-yard run by Avery Lee and a 14-yard run by Austin Phillips.

Blue Jays to face Warriors in first round

The No. 3 St. Edmund Blue Jays will entertain the No. 14 St. Fredrick Warriors in the opening round of the LHSAA Division IV playoffs.
“I am proud of how our team played together all season,” St. Edmund head coach Andy Hargroder said. “We don’t have any one person that can line up against the guys we played and have success.
“They all came together and played as a team.”
The Blue Jays (9-1, 7-0) won the District 4-1A championship, while the Warriors (4-6, 3-4) finished fourth in District 2-1A behind Oak Grove, Cedar Creek and Ouachita Christian.
