Registration, voting deadlines set for upcoming elections

Cheryl Milburn, St. Landry Parish registrar of voters, announced the deadline to register to vote online (geauxvote.com) for the Dec. 5 election is Saturday.
More than 3,000 voters had requested absentee ballots in St. Landry as of last Friday and the count was rising, according to Cheryl Miburn, registrar of voters.
Early voting for the July 11 election begins Saturday in Eunice and Opelousas.

The St. Landry Parish Council approved changing the polling place from the building housing the Eunice Food Bank to the Eunice Career and Technical Center.
A voter registration drive is to begin Tuesday in St. Landry Parish that will include public high schools and nursing homes.
