Sandbags available in St. Landry Parish

St. Landry Parish Government has announced sandbagging for the parish will be available Friday and Saturday at several locations in the parish. Sandbags are free to the residence of St. Landry parish, but the public is asked to maintain social distancing protocols and bring their own shovel.

Hurricane threat developing

The National Weather Service on Wednesday was advising that a hurricane threat was increasing for the region. People should be prepared for hurricane-force winds by Saturday, with tropical force winds starting on Friday.

Sandbags will be available for pickup to Eunice residents starting at 1 p.m. Friday until further noticeat the Northwest Community Center Pavilion, 651 Samuel Dr., Eunice, according to an announcement from Mayor Scott Fontenot. This is a fill your own site. Sand and bags will be available.
