Shiver excited about Voodoo football rebirth

By Tom Dodge Sports Editor Based on his busy schedule, football is life for James Shiver. Last November, the St. Edmund athletic director and head football coach was named the Louisiana Voodoo head coach after the Arena Football League announced the revival of the Louisiana franchise.

Ragin’ Cajuns Water Ski Team wins 4th national title in a row

UL Lafayette’s Ragin’ Cajuns Water Ski Team has claimed its fourth consecutive Division I national title, bringing its overall total to 10 championships. The team holds the most national championships in school history; it competes as a club sport rather than an NCAA-sanctioned sport.

LSUE drops men’s basketball program

Body of former LSUE baskeball player found

The body of former LSUE basketball player Everette Jackson was found about 2 miles downstream from where he was last seen tubing on the Payette River. The Gem County Sheriff’s Office announced Sunday in a press release that a volunteer located Jackson’s body.

Former LSUE basketball player missing after tubing in Idaho

Authorities are searching for a 21-year-old former LSUE basketball player from Lafourche Parish who went missing in an Idaho river near Boise after visiting the state for a trip, according to a report on WDSU’s website.
