Northwest runs past Bobcats

OPELOUSAS – Eunice began strong, but Northwest finished with a 82-35 win over the Bobcats in the Opelousas Catholic tournament. In the season opener for the Bobcats, Eunice jumped out to a 23-15 first quarter lead. Trey Cooper hit an early three-pointer and Simeon Ardoin added a drive in the lane.

Lady Bobcats fall in Acadiana High tourney

SCOTT – Eunice battled the Lady Rams in the first half before Acadiana High earned a 41-34 win over the Lady Bobcats. Acadiana High (5-2) jumped out to a 16-10 first quarter lead, aided by six points from Nikki Goodman.

Merricks joins EHS Hall of Fame

He was the first baseball coach for the Bobcats and now Clarence Merricks joins the Eunice High Sports Hall of Fame. According to Merricks, he was hired at EHS in the 1971-72 school year to fill an opening in math and science.

Starks, Bengals ready for second season

As LSU Eunice enters its second season of mens basketball, Bengal head coach Byron Starks is excited about the possibilites. “I feel like the first year was a good year,” Starks said. “We are looking for to an even better season this second year.

Collins named LSUE softball coach

LSU Eunice has named Meghan Collins as the third head softball coach in program history, athletic director Jeff Willis announced on Tuesday. Collins' hiring is pending approval by the LSU Board of Supervisors.
