Serious side to 2 days of fun at the Experience Louisiana Festival

The Experience Louisiana Festival is about two days of fun and informative activities in October at the LSUE campus. But the festival, which is organized out of the Eunice Rotary Club, has a serious side and that was explained by Pat Dossman to the Eunice Kiwanis Club on Thursday.

Eunice Rotarians donate $20,000 to free health care clinic

The Eunice Community Health Clinic received a $20,000 contribution from the Eunice Rotary Club on Wednesday. The free health clinic serves more than 400 people a month with primary health and a pharmacy, said Yancy Fontenot, the center’s executive director.

Marshal’s Office employee wins annual Rotary award

Misty Credeur, a 13-year employee of City Marshal Terry Darbonne, won the Eunice Rotary Club’s annual Administrative Assistant of the Year award. The award was presented Wednesday at the club’s 31st annual luncheon at St. Thomas More Church Hall. The Rotary Club solicits nominations for the award.

Eunice Rotary Club seeks nominees Administrative Professional of the Year.

The Eunice Rotary Club is seeking nominations for the 2017 Eunice Administrative Professional of the Year. The winner will receive a free trip to Branson, Missouri, courtesy of KEUN Radio, $500 spending money from the Rotary Club, a plaque and a flower arrangement.

Retail growth possible near Walmart

Eunice Mayor Scott Fontenot provided few details, but said additional retail development around the Walmart Supercenter is possible. Fontenot said he met with a developer from the Lafayette area who is interested in establishing retail sites around Walmart.

LSUE Chancellor Russell is Rotary’s Citizen of the Year

The Eunice Rotary Club named LSUE Chancellor Kimberly Russell as its 2016 Citizen of the Year on Wednesday. Russell was named chancellor in June 2015.
