Bobcats lose to Yellow Jackets

The Eunice High boys and girls basketball teams ended District 3-4A play last Friday with a pair of losses to the Iowa Yellow Jackets. The Lady Cats struggled from the jump against Iowa in dropping a 63-8 game to the Lady Jackets, while the Bobcats got overwhelmed on their way to a 70-61 loss.

Lady Jays end regular season with 23-4 record

The St. Ed’s Lady Jays closed out their regular season on Friday night with a 43-34 win over Grand Lake on Friday night to end their season with a 23-4 overall record.
St Edmund wrestlers traveled to Shreveport to compete for the High School State Championship in each their respective classes over the weekend. Four wrestlers from St Edmund placed. Michael Perron placed fourth at 120 lbs, Cooper Berzas is the state champion at 126 lbs. Wesley Reed took fifth place in the 132 lbs weight class. Henry Summerlin took home third place in state in the 175 lb. weight class. The Blue Jay Wrestling Team placed seventh out of 29 teams at the State Championship Tournament. Pictured

It’s that time of the year where bouncing balls and squeaking shoes give way to dirt and the ping of metal bats. High school baseball and softball season has arrived in Louisiana, with the Eunice Bobcats and St. Edmund Blue Jays opening their varsity baseball seasons on Monday night.
