Leader In Me projects at Highland Elementary

The Leadership Environment Action team at Highland has completed several Leader in Me themed projects around campus. The first project was the 7 Habits Sign displayed outside the school office allowing staff and students a reminder of the habits daily. This was a group effort.

NAUW honors Women in the Community

Women in the Community were recently honored by members of the NAUW-Eunice Branch for their service to mankind in many different ways for many years in making life better. Those honored were Catherine Thibodeaux, Rosaline A. Williams and Delores A.

Birth notes

Haisley Hawkins Ashley Dietz and Joshua Hawkins of Mamou announce the birth of their daughter, Haisley Lynn Hawkins, born at Acadian Medical Center on April 17 weighing 5 pounds and 13 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Crystal Dietz of Eunice and Eugene Manuel of Mamou.

LeJeune at Liberty

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will have a performance by Greg LeJeune & Cajun Heat. Admission is $5. Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m. Starting at 10 a.m.

Family cycling can be enjoyable

Cycling as a family can be an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon and get some exercise. I love bike riding. I find it to be relaxing and you get to enjoy nature all around you. I plan to soon purchase a bicycle and, as I like to say, “take to the road.

Attention all graduating seniors

Graduation is approaching soon and much is needed ahead of time for the newspaper’s special graduation edition. Eunice High and St. Edmund seniors are to email their senior bios.

Tractor Supply donates to Eunice High FFA

Eunice High FFA Chapter recently received various items from Tractor Supply. These donated items will be used for the members Supervised Agriculture Experiences and shop projects.
