Class Act Student of the Week

This week’s Student of the Week is Megan Mitchell, a freshman at St. Edmund High School. Her parents are Maria and Sonny Mitchell.

If you had to live in another part of the world, where would you want to live and why? I would like to live in Nashville because of the music, culture and people.

Do you have a career wish? I would like to become a singer. But in reality, my career choice is to become an architect.

What could you eat seven days a week? Pizza.

What could you never eat? Sushi.

Cajun & Creole at Liberty Saturday

The “Rendez-vous des Cajuns” Cajun Music Radio & TV show Saturday at the Liberty Center at 6 p.m. will feature a performance by Cajun & Creole Fiddle Masters.
Show starts at 6 p.m. The Liberty opens at 4 p.m.
Tickets are $5.
Starting at 10 a.m. at the Jean Lafitte, children can participate in arts and crafts, all free of charge.

2017 Miss Eunice and Teen Miss Eunice crowned

The 71st Miss Eunice and Teen Miss Eunice Pageant was held Saturday evening inside Eunice High School’s auditorium. The annual contest was sponsored by the Junior Auxiliary of Eunice.
The 2016 reigning queens Lynzi Trosclair, Miss Eunice, and Teen Miss Eunice McKenzie Smith crowned the new 2017 queens at the conclusion of the pageant.
Winning Miss Eunice Queen is Madison DeVillier. DeVillier, 18, is a senior at Eunice High School and the daughter of Claude and Missie DeVillier of Eunice.
