An innocent bystander was one of two victims in gang shooting spree on Wednesday at East Laurel Avenue and Nimitz Street, Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said. Chris Jones, 58, of Eunice, died at the scene as he fell victim to what police say was a shooting between Eunice and Ville Platte gangs.

Two people are dead after a shooting spree at about 7 p.m. Wednesday at East Laurel Avenue and Nimitz Street, according to Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot. Two people have been detained. They have not been identified. The victims have not been identified.
