Grief Share group to start at FBC The First Baptist Church in Eunice will sponsor a Grief Share group program beginning in September on Sunday evenings. The free program will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. beginning on Sunday, Sept. 13 and will last for 14 weeks.

Water bottle drive underway for Monroe City Schools

MONROE — To ensure that students stay hydrated while water fountains are off limits due to the pandemic, a water bottle drive for Monroe City Schools is being hosted by the LSU AgCenter, Ouachita Parish Healthy Communities Coalition and Monroe City Schools.

Three O’Clock meals through August The Three O’Clock Project summer meal distributions will continue through August. The extension comes as several school districts in Acadiana have delayed their school start dates. The distribution in Eunice is from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

Charlene Richard Mass canceled The Annual Mass of Petition for Charlene Richard has been canceled due to COVID-19. Bonnie Broussard, president of the Charlene Richard Foundation, said, “Hopefully we will be able to have it next year.” The Mass was to be held Aug. 7 at St. Edwards Church in Richard.

Grab & Go meals for kids through Wednesday Restoring God’s Glory Ministries is part of the summer feeding program for kids. Lunches will be available through Wednesday. There will be a cooked lunch and snacks served daily from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
