Acadia Parish Police Jury OKs pay raise for secretary-treasurer

By Steve Bandy Crowley Post-Signal CROWLEY – The secretary-treasurer of the Acadia Parish Police Jury will get a pay raise, but his term of office is up to the Louisiana Legislature. Currently, the annual salary for the secretary-treasurer in Acadia is $50,000.

Acadia Parish sheriff plans coffee session Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson is inviting everyone to Coffee with the Sheriff at 8 a.m. Saturday at C’est Bon Restaurant in Mermentau. Gibson will give an update on the office’s progress.

Free ACT prep class Saturday at Crowley Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson will hold a free ACT prep class on Saturday for all high school students in Acadiana. The class will be held at the Sheriff’s Office, 1037 Capitol Avenue, in Crowley. Classes will begin at 8 a.m. and end about 2 p.m.

Sale ends annual Jr. Livestock Show

Acadia Parish’s annual Junior Livestock Show and Sale was once again a success. Saturday saw the close of the three-day event, with a large number of local 4-H and FFA members selling their market animals at auction.
