Rayne Police investigate Thursday shooting

Officers of the Rayne Police Department investigate a shooting at the 400 block of Ann Drive near the intersection of East A School Street. Eyewitness reports claim two individuals exchange gunfire before the noon hour of Thursday, Nov. 8.

Toys for Tots drive currently underway The annual Toys for Tots drive in Eunice is underway. The Eunice Fire Department, at the central station located at 100 Park Avenue, will accept application now until Nov. 30 each day from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Veterans Day program is Monday Veterans Day in Eunice will be observed at 11 a.m. Monday at the VFW Post 8971 Hall, U.S. 190 East. All veterans are welcomed and the public is invited to attend. The Eunice High Bobcat band will perform. An official flag burning will be done.

DSAA Buddy Walk set for Oct. 27 The Down Syndrome Association of Acadiana will have its 14th annual Buddy Walk on Oct. 27 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Parc International, 200 Garfield Street, downtown Lafayette. Registration begins at 9 a.m. Cost is $15 per person.
