The timing was perfect for the Eunice Rotary Club to host a meteorologist given an arctic blast coming for the next week. Dan Romero, chief meteorologist for News 15 KADN/KLAF offered his long range forecast. “Tuesday, I think, we will get an icy mess, probably freezing rain,” he said.

Eunice is top tourist destination in the parish

Eunice, especially at Mardi Gras, is one of the top tourist destinations in St. Landry Parish. Herman Fuselier, St. Landry Parish Tourist Commission executive director, told the St. Landry Parish Council that on Mardi Gras day there were 11,300 people in downtown Eunice.

Eunice Police voted 2% pay raise

All 38 Eunice Police Department employees are receiving a 2% pay raise following Tuesday’s city council meeting. Eunice Mayor Scott Fontenot explained, “The chief and I have been discussing some things to recruit and retain officers in the police department.

A 5-acre patch of land near Arnaudville will become a hub for education, science conferences, sustainability workshops and cultural festivals thanks, in part, to the expertise of University of Louisiana at Lafayette students. The Levity and Les Deux Bayous S.T.E.A.M.
