An ordinance to investigate the firing of St. Landry Parish Government employees from Aug. 24, 2020, to the present is to be introduced at the Oct. 17 Parish Council meeting.

Eunice cleanup best ever

The Keep Eunice Beautiful cleanup was the best ever, according to Donna Baltakis director of volunteer group.
Baltakis spoke at the Tuesday Eunice Board of Aldermen meeting where the city business centered mostly on ordinances.

Parish sales tax collections up 4% from a year ago

St. Landry Parish sales tax collections rose 4% in April compared to a year ago, according to the School Board’s tax division.
Year-to-date collections through April totaled $31,315,498, up $1,209,742 from $30,105,756 in April 2022.

Forum for school superintendent is Monday

A public forum for the two candidates for St. Landry Parish school superintendent at 6 p.m. Monday at the Delta Grand Theater, 120 S. Market St, Opelousas.
