LSU, University of Louisiana System won’t require COVID-19 vaccine

BATON ROUGE – Louisiana’s higher education officials are encouraging tens of thousands of students to get COVID-19 vaccines before returning for in-person instruction next fall, but they do not plan to require it.

Retired Eunice High coach John Burson’s jersey retired

It was John Burson Day Sunday at Bobcat Field as the Eunice baseball program retired the long-time assistant coach’s jersey in a pregame ceremony. Burson spent 41 years as a teacher and coach at Eunice High and left a legacy as a mentor and the head of the Social Studies Department. A 1967 St.

Search continues in Gulf for crew members

Quinon Pitre, 31, of Pitreville, is one of 12men missing from a lift boat that capsized in the Gulf of Mexico Tuesday 8 miles south of Grand Isle. Six people were rescued and one person, the captain, David Ledet, was found dead in the water.

Parish president explains his plan for $15.9M

Rain puts the brakes on rice planting
