Donald Dean Godeaux passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020 at the age of 82. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 6, 2020 at 2 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father Hampton Davis celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. Paul Mausoleum.

Crash kills Eunice man

A single-vehicle crash on La. 29 near Carl Loewer Road in St. Landry Parish took the life of 49-year-old Hubbard Arrington of Eunice, according to a news release from Louisiana State Police Troop I. The crash occurred at about 7:50 p.m. Friday.

Coronavirus flares up in area

The coronavirus is making itself known in Acadiana as parishes are experiencing spikes in cases. The seven-parish Acadiana region recently had a 25% increase in cases to a seven-day total of 1,591 and a seven-day positive test rate of 10%.

Sensory Garden

Children enjoyed hunting for snails at the Eunice Community Sensory Garden on June 20. On a bright sunny morning several children helped to remove garden pests, snails. Hundreds of snails were removed. Snails were then relocated to the compost pile.
