Mr. James Edward Landry, 76, was a resident of Crowley and departed this life on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. James was born on June 13, 1942, in Jennings, to the late Hellen Bossette and Terrence Landry.

Musical line-up for Frog Festival announced

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m. at Greater Mt. Zion (Ambassador Ministries) Church for Joseph Landry Jr., 75, who passed away Jan. 2, 2019, at his home surrounded by family and friends. Services were conducted by Rev. Keith Matthews. Interment was at South Crowley Cemetery.

Drive-by reported Sunday

No injuries were reported in a drive-by shooting here early Sunday. Police Chief Jimmy Broussard said the incident occurred in the early morning hours — about 1:40 a.m. — Sunday, Jan. 13, in the 400 block of Spann Avenue. “About five rounds were shot at the residence,” Broussard said.
