The Iota Police Department is investigating a hit and run involving a pedestrian that occurred in the 800 block of Simar Street at about 11:30 p.m. Feb. 23, 2018. National Park Service’s Hatten named deputy southeast regional director

National Park Service Southeast Regional Director Stan Austin announced the selection of Lance Hatten as deputy regional director of the Southeast Region, headquartered in Atlanta. Hatten has been acting in the position since November 2017 and will assume the role permanently on March 18.

Fire on North 11th Street

Eunice firefighters responded to a fire at a mobile home at 230 North 11th St. at 11:37 a.m. Tuesday, according to Eunice Police radio dispatch logs. There were no injuries, but two dogs died in the mobile home.
