Elward "Jay" Fontenot

Elward James "Jay" Fontenot passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at the age of 85. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018, at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Eunice. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Fr. Matt Hebert will officiate.

Eunice Police report Mardi Gras generally quiet crime-wise

The Mardi Gras party in Eunice went by relatively free of any serious crime, Police Chief Randy Fontenot said. There were a couple of incidents, he said. Two women got into a scrap, an intoxicated driver was involved in a hit and run Saturday and there was fight after 9 p.m. Tuesday, he said.
