EUNICE-It is with heavy hearts that the family of Dot Vidrine announces her passing on Monday, August 16, 2021, at her home with loving family by her side at the age of 85. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice.

Larry James Gotreaux

Larry James Gotreaux passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at the age of 69. A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home of Eunice with Reverend Eric Griggs officiating. At the request of family, visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m.

Concealed carry class in Eunice

The St Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office is hosting a one-day concealed carry permit class at 7:30 a.m. Aug. 28 at 211 W. Park Ave., Eunice. The course is $100 and $80 for a spouse or renewal. The course includes fingerprints, notary or online help, application, classroom, range, and a hot Cajun meal.

Larry D. “Bo-Leg” Hudson

It is with great sadness that the family of Larry D. “Bo-Leg” Hudson announces his passing on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2021 at 8:15 a.m. in Baton Rouge. He was 64. A memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021 at 3 p.m.

Glenda Spencer

It is with great sadness that the family of Glenda Spencer announces her passing on Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021 at 1:05 p.m. at her residence. She was 72. A celebration of life will be celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021 at 11 a.m.

Joycelyn Y. Fletcher

Joycelyn Virginia Young Fletcher, age 84, of Lawtell, Louisiana went to be with our Lord on August 13, 2021, after losing her battle with a breakthrough case of COVID-19. She will be forever loved, remembered, and missed by all who knew her.

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. August 17 Jarett Jamar Shorts, 27, 3200 block of Derby Place, New Orleans. Speeding, driving under suspension, possession with intent to distribute Schedule I CDS. Arrested by Krotz Springs Police.

The following are arrests by Eunice Police. August 16 Miranda Bordelon Catoire, 46, 1300 block of West Vine, Eunice. Monetary instrument abuse, 2 counts. Shawn M. Hebert, 26, 2600 block of Duralde Hwy., Mamou. Probation warrant.
