Main Street Recovery offers up to $15,000 in grant funding

Acadia Parish Sheriff’s detectives are investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred at about 10 p.m. July 11 in the area of St. Margaret Road near Church Point. The incident occurred after the victim stopped to help stranded motorists.

Acadia School Board sets $88.8M budget

The Acadia Parish School Board adopted an $88.8 million operating budget for the 2020-2021 year. The budget was approved during the July meeting in advance of the beginning of the fiscal year July 1.

St. Edmund to begin school Aug. 5

The first day of school for St. Edmund students is Aug. 5. Students will report a half day. Dismissal will be at noon. Students will report to school from 7:55 a.m. until 2:55 p.m. Monday through Friday.
