COVID-19 testing planned in Eunice

Free testing for COVID-19 is scheduled Wednesday and Friday at Eunice High School, according to a news release from Van Reed, St. Landry Parish director of Emergency Preparedness and public information officer. This week’s testing will be third time the service has been offered here.

Brenda M LaFleur passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at the age of 71. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020 at 10 a.m. at St Augustine Catholic Church in Basile with Father Kennon Brown officiating. Private burial will follow in St Augustine Cemetery.

Food Drive today at Word Ministries The Farmers to Families Food Box Program and the Eunice Food Bank will hold a free drive through food drive from 1 to 3 pm. at Word Ministries. Food boxes will be distributed on a first-come and first served basis until all food is distributed.

Qualifying begins with local races taking shape

OPELOUSAS — Candidates at qualifying that began Wednesday seemed to be obeying the mandate to wear masks. Masks are requested of those entering the Delta Grand building on Market Street in Opelousas where qualifying for the Nov. 3 election began.
