Parish Council budgets 5% pay increase

The St. Landry Parish Council 2020 budget includes a 5% pay raise for its employees — the first in 10 to 15 years, according to budget information handed out at a special meeting Thursday.

Ville Platte man cited for over the limit of deer

Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents cited a Ville Platte man for alleged deer hunting violations on Dec. 15 in St. Landry Parish. Agents cited David P. Landry, 27, for taking over the daily bag limit of deer and intentional concealment of wildlife.

Eunice school success story explained

Eunice High School is the first non-select high school in St. Landry Parish to earn an A grade in the state’s school performance scores. On Tuesday, Principal Mitchell Fontenot explained to the School Board’s Academic Committee how the school achieved the score.
