Arrest made in Daville homicide

Eunice Police have arrested a 17-year-old suspect in connection with the Dec. 27, 2018, shooting death of Scott Daville in the 500 block of Juanita Street.

TRIAD Christmas Party set Wednesday The TRIAD Christmas party is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the Yambilee Building, 1863 West Landry, Opelousas. Lunch will be served, live music and door prizes from local merchants and health care providers will be on hand.

Update: Washington man charged in hit and run left 2 dead

A 66-year-old Washington man was arrested Sunday in a hit and run that left two people dead Saturday, according to a news release from Louisiana State Police Troop I. Michael S. Thibodeaux, 66, was arrested and booked into the St.

Opelousas project among Main Street grant recipients

Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser and the Louisiana Office of Cultural Development’s Division of Historic Preservation announced $100,000 in grant funding for 2019-2020 awarded through the Louisiana Main Street program to 10 Main Street communities to revitalize historic commercial buildings.
