Myra Miller Lifestyles Editor The Eunice Centennial Time Capsule was dug up by Mayor Scott Fontenot and city worker Todd Smith on Sept. 14 during Eunice’s 125th birthday anniversary celebration event. Many different dated items were retrieved.

The following are arrests by Eunice Police. September 26 Brandon Mitchell Smith, 33, 800 block of South Beulah, Eunice. Monetary instrument abuse. Juvenile, 17, possession with intent to distribute, Schedule I CDS, marijuana, and monetary instrument abuse.

Sickle Cell Awarenesss walk set The first Sickle Cell Awareness “The Purpose Walk” will be held in Eunice at the City Hall with registration at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. The event is free. September is Sickle Cell Awareness Month. Prayer walk will begin at 9 a.m.
