Eunice Police seek man in early Friday morning shooting

A 41-year-old Eunice man is wanted for question by Eunice Police in an early morning shooting, according to Police Chief Chief Randy Fontenot. Wanted is Billy Thomas, who should be considered armed and dangerous, Fontenot said.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. June 19-20 Lance Hargrove, 23, 600 block of Bernice Street, Eunice. Bench warrant. Arrested by St. Landry Sheriff’s Office. Malachi McCarthy, 29, 100 block of Mandy Road, Opelousas. Bench warrants (three counts).

David Grant Fontenot was born November 10, 1968 in Eunice, Louisiana and passed away June 16, 2019 at his residence in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Grant graduated from Eunice High School in 1987.

Farmers Market at DMV parking lot The Eunice Farmers’ Market is held in the DMV parking lot, and normally is open from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturdays. However, on the third Saturday of each month the market is joined by outside vendors and the market remains open until 3 p.m.
