St. Landry Parish 4-H'ers are state winners

With a theme of All Roads Lead to 4-H U, nearly 1,250 4-H’ers from across the state won educational trips, participated in educational programs and selected new officers for the 2019-20 school year during 4-H University.

21-year-old driver killed in St. Landry Parish crash

Qiana S. Orville, 21, of Opelousas, was killed in a single vehicle fatality crash on La. 167 near Bellridge Road in St. Landry Parish at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday, according to a news release from Louisiana State Police Troop I.

Chataignier Council raises fine for nuisance dogs

The Chataignier Council, on Monday, voted to adopt an amendment to its existing dog/nuisance ordinance. The amendment was introduced during last month’s meeting and was passed following a public hearing.
