The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office has taken a hard stance in assuring sex offenders have complied with registration requirements as per Louisiana law, a news release from Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson stated. Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish is seeking information to locate wanted sex offenders.

Acadian Medical Center announces year’s first baby

Owen Dean Christ is the first baby of the new year born at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice. Owen was born at 6:32 p.m. Jan. 1 and weighed 6 pounds and 14 ounces and measured 19 3/4 inches long. His parents, Logan and Kristie Christ, are from Mamou.

School officials may get price cut from Council

Faced with a $1,125 monthly charge to use St. Landry Parish property in Opelousas, two School Board officials were back in front of the Parish Council requesting a price cut. The St. Landry Parish School Board began administering the Head Start program in September 2018.

Agenda light for new Board members

Homicide investigators renew call for public’s help

Eunice Police are continuing their investigation into the Dec. 27 shooting death of Scott Daville, 56, of Eunice. Daville was shot after confronting a suspected burglar in his pickup truck around 5:30 a.m. at his residence in the 500 block of Juanita.
