The following are arrests by Eunice Police. Dec. 11 Tevontae Marquise Harris, 24, 3000 block of Vancouver Drive, Baton Rouge. Five warrants. Dec. 12 Christopher Mouton, 38, 100 block of Gum Street, Eunice. Two counts of theft. Christopher Lee Mettetal, 26, 10 block of Childs, Eunice.

Funeral services for Mr. Russell Edwards Sr., 87, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018, at 11 A. M. at St. Mathilda C. C. in Eunice, LA. Visitation will be observed from 8:00 A. M. – 11 A. M. in Bishop Ceasar Hall. Burial will be in St. Mathilda C. C. Cemetery.

Commissioner of Higher Education to address LSU Eunice graduates

Dr. Kim Hunter Reed, Louisiana’s commissioner of higher education, will be the keynote speaker when LSU Eunice holds commencement exercises here at 10 a.m. Friday. LSUE will graduate a record number of students for a fall commencement during this week’s ceremonies.

Bayou Teche Paddle Trail kiosk to be unveiled

The TECHE Project and the Teche-Vermilion Fresh Water District will reveal the information kiosk for the beginning of the Bayou Teche National Paddle Trail at a public 2 p.m. ceremony on Tuesday at 227 Bayou Drive, Port Barre.

Project Talent seeks Charles Drew participants for follow-up study

In 1960, the students of Charles Drew High School in Eunice became part of a landmark study called Project Talent. They joined more than 400,000 teenagers from across the country, including 6,298 students from 25 schools in Louisiana.
