Sheriff: Suspect booked on drug warrant

A 35-year-old Patterson man was booked on a warrant stemming from an April incident when detectives searched his home and found Xanax pills, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Scott Anslum said in a news release.

New Iberia man arrested after stabbing death in Abbeville

A man wanted in connection to a stabbing death in Abbeville Thursday afternoon is now behind bars. Abbeville Chief of Police Bill Spearman said officers arrested Nicholas Marquis Wilson, 36, of New Iberia, after locating him in Jeanerette around 10 p.m. on Thursday.

Weekend shooting leaves one dead, another wounded

A shooting that occurred over the weekend at an event that took place in the Beaver Creek area has left one individual dead and another injured. In a press release from the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office’s Investigations Division, the suspect in this matter was identified as Brandon Perkins.
