Bulb Blossom meeting set Monday The Eunice Bulb and Blossom Garden Club will meet on at 6 p.m. Monday at the residence of Donna Baltakis. There will be a plant exchange and all members are asked to bring a plant. Ranger Bellard of the Prairie Acadian Center will be the guest speaker.

Never time for Daylight Saving

I’m already dreading it. On Sunday, March 11, at 2 a.m., daylight saving time, the practice of moving our clocks forward one hour in the spring and backward one hour in the fall, will commence.

Early voting begins Saturday

Parents charged after child found on U.S. 190

The parents of a girl were charged with child desertion after their 2-year-old was found in the middle of U.S. 190 on the east side of Eunice, according to a news release from St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. A caller reported the girl at about 12:28 p.m.

Darrell LaFleur

Darrell LaFleur passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at the age of 81. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at 12:00 PM. at Quirk and Son Funeral Home in Eunice. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Elton. Rev, Alvin Ogea will officiate.

MALLET – Funeral services for Wayne Marcena Guillory, 51, will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at 11:00 A. M. with the visitation beginning at 8:00 A. M. at St. Ann Catholic Church in Mallet, LA. Burial will be in St. Ann C. C. Cemetery. Father Borgia Aubespin will conduct the funeral mass.
