St. Landry Parish awarded $500k grant for blight removal
The Welcome to Eunice entrance sign on U.S. 190 east received a refresh by members of the Bulb & Blossom Garden Club. Volunteers re-worked the flowering bed and planted Petite Knock out roses as their project for Arbor Day. Other flowering plants, trees and greenery include two Magnolia trees, ligustrums, and Indian Hawthorns. Bulb & Blossom Garden Club renews welcome sign flower bed
The plan to close Eunice Elementary remained unchanged at a St. Landry Parish School Board Committee of the Whole meeting on April 15, but an option was added for Washington Elementary. Both elementary schools are to be closed for the next school year and their use changed. Both elementary schools are to be used to enlarge the parish’s vocational technical education.
