Lane closure on U.S. 190 in Eunice

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced that effective Monday the westbound right lane of US 190 (Laurel Street), between 9th Street and 10 Street, will be closed for emergency roadway repairs. The work is expected to be completed by Thursday, weather permitting.

EUNICE~It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Robert Lee Guillory announces his passing on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the Acadia St. Landry Guest Home in Church Point at the age of 88.

Dariel Mays arrested for stealing crawfish in Acadia Parish

Dariel Mays of Opelousas was arrested for stealing multiple sacks of crawfish. Dariel Mays, 34, was charged with theft of livestock, a felony. It is believed that Mays has committed similar thefts in northern Acadia Parish for the last five years, costing farmers thousands of dollars.

Eunice Police Arrests

The following are arrests by Eunice Police. Feb. 17 Olena Roberts, 56, 400 block of Mill, Eunice. Warrant for possession of drug paraphenalia. Dexter Manuel, 25, 600 block of E. 3rd St., Duson. Driving around railroad barricades, no child restraint, and driving under suspension.

LSUE OLLI French Table discussion set Friday The LSUE OLLI will have a French Table Friday, Feb. 24 at 9 a.m. in the Community Education Building, Room 117 at LSUE. The topic of discussion will be celebrate Mardi Gras by wearing or showing costumes.

David Joseph Ardoin

David Joseph Ardoin passed away on Sunday February 19, 2017, at the age of 65. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at 11:00 AM. at Quirk and Son Funeral Home in Eunice with burial to follow at St. Paul's Mausoleum. Deacon David Guillory will officiate.

St. Landry Parish tourism Commission issues annual report

The St. Landry Parish Tourism Commission released an annual report Monday. The marketing plan and year end report stated there were 10,060 visitors to the parish information centers. The parish tourism organization is led by Celeste Gomez, exeutive director, of Eunice.

Senate to take up budget fix Sunday
