The following are arrests by Eunice Police. Arrests Nov. 23 Janet Lynn Guillory, 55, 200 block of Kyries Hebert Street, Eunice. Warrants for disturbing the peace by fighting and aggravated battery. Tierra Nashae Fontenot, 17, 1800 block of Scott Street, Eunice.

Kiwani’s Christmas Parade set Dec. 8 The Eunice  Kiwani’s Christmas parade is set for 5 p.m. Dec. 8 with the parade route beginning at North 2nd Street. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for children to visit with at the conclusion of the parade at the City Hall lobby.

Bourbon Street shooting survivor

Ben Allison, 22, of Eunice is one of 10 survivors of the early Sunday morning Bourbon Street shooting that killed one person. “I was at the wrong place at the wrong time,” said Allison. Two gunmen sprayed Bourbon Street with bullets. The gunmen have not been identifed or arrested as of Wednesday.

Eunice man accused of molesting girl, 7

A 32-year-old Eunice man, Clifton J. Johnson, has been arrested for molesting  a 7-year-old girl, according to a news release from St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. Johnson, of the 700 block of Lewis street, is accused of assaulting the girl on two separate occasions.

Rodney Fontenot

Opelousas~A funeral service will be held for Rodney Fontenot at 8:00 AM on Thursday, December 1, 2016, in the First Baptist Church of Opelousas. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Myrtle Grove Cemetery in Opelousas. Rev. Perry Hubbs will officiate the Service.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Office reports arrests

The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. November 16: James Lanclos, Jr., 20, 1600 block Little Teche Rd., Port Barre. Three counts of theft, contributing to the delinquency of juveniles, and criminal trespassing.
