Bryan Borill, secretary-treasurer for the Acadia Parish Police Jury, has tendered his resignation “for personal reasons” effective Jan. 14, 2025.

An 18-wheeler was coming out onto South East near G&H Seed when the trailer failed at 2:15 p.m. Friday. According to Eunice Police Chief Kyle LeBouef, “No one was injured, and apparently the trailer collapsed. It was apparently overloaded. No report was done.” (Submitted photo)

The following are arrests by Eunice Police. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Monday, Dec. 30 Shawn Arnaud, 48, 700 block of Tate, Eunice. Domestic abuse battery. Robin Kordish, 39, 100 block of Dulles, Eunice. Probation.

A crop duster flown by Robert Lejeune of Basile drops water on Nick’s on 2nd at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 25. Eunice firefighters were dispatched to the fire at 11:53 a.m. Saturday. According to Fire Chief Chaise Brown on Tuesday a cause for the fire had not been established. There were no injuries reported from the fire. Eunice photographer Dwight Jodon captured his stunning image using a video mode on his camera then pulling the still image from it.

The just passed year of 2024 in Eunice included the demolition of the old Moosa Memorial Hospital, the election of a hometown politician to one of the highest offices in the state and a Saturday fire that left a scar on downtown.
