The following are arrests reported by the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Saturday, Sept. 7-Monday, Sept. 9 Brock Kobe Valin, 21, 3300 block of Highway 103, Port Barre.

Sandbags available today

Sandbags are available for pickup today until 7 p.m. at the Yambilee Building, located at 1939 W. Landry St., Opelousas, according to a news release from St. Landry Parish Government. Residents are urged to check with their local municipalities before seeking sandbags.

Lloyd Bihm passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at the age of 79. No Services have been planned at this time.

A survey of higher education faculty in the South found that professors are increasingly worried about political interference in higher education, with 80% of respondents ranking the political atmosphere surrounding colleges and universities as poor or very poor.

Eunice Housing Authority Board members face ouster
