Reverend William “Gary” Mitchell passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at the age of 81. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Chataignier with Reverend Rickey Boone officiating.

UL Lafayette researcher to examine role of methane seepage in ocean’s carbon cycle

LAFAYETTE — A University of Louisiana at Lafayette researcher is leading a study to investigate the significant, complex role of natural methane seepage in the ocean’s carbon cycle. The research is being funded with a $2,995,000 grant from the National Science Foundation’s Ocean Sciences Division.
