A new program emphasizing character issues was launched at a meeting sponsored by the Eunice Ministerial Alliance. The first meeting was held at the First Baptist Church.
Colby Droddy of Eunice High School won the Class 4A championship in javelin at the state meet. Droddy was a junior. The Bobcat team placed 13th in the meet held in Baton Rouge. Droddy also won fifth place in the discuss.
Pam Joubert was named Coach of the Year at Eunice High School. Joubert coached the tennis team.

LSUE awards spring degrees

Eunice native Dr. Kayla Fontenot talked about beginnings in a commencement speech Friday at Louisiana State University Eunice.
LSUE held its spring graduation ceremony at the gymnasium of the Health and Physical Education Building.
The university announced there were 185 students who were candidates for graduation. Graduates are listed on Page 2.
Fontenot, obstetrician and gynecologist in Eunice, asked the graduates to consider the moment as a beginning.
“... I urge you to refrain from considering this as any ending,” she said.

LSUE releases list of spring graduates

The following is a list of spring graduates at Louisiana State University Eunice.
Dr. Kayla Fontenot will be the commencement speaker when Louisiana State University Eunice holds fall graduation ceremonies at 10 a.m. Friday in the gymnasium of the Health and Physical Education Building.
There are 185 students who are candidates for graduation this spring.
