Parish Council considering ambulance ordinance

An ordinance to regulate ambulance service in St. Landry Parish is on hold after a Council meeting Wednesday. One issue that surfaced is improving service to north St. Landry Parish.

Top parish government pay listed

As part of its budget approval process the St. Landry Parish Council received a list of parish employees and their salaries, a list of vehicles and an organizational chart from Parish President Jessie Bellard at its Wednesday meeting. There are 118 employees listed in 11 departments.

Lawyer’s husband busted

Calling it “Operation Viper” in a news release, St Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz announced Thursday that David Clarence Marler has been arrested on drug charges and battery of a police officer.

$50 billion coastal plan heads toward approval

Louisiana’s most recent plan to restore and protect its coast at a cost of $50 billion advanced Wednesday through the House Committee on Natural Resources and Environment.
